Frequently when I'm coaching individuals who are in job transitions and looking for their next career opportunity I ask them if they've considered returning to a previous employer if there's an opportunity to do so. This often brings an incredulous look to their face as if to say, "Why would I ever do that?". Since most folks view returning to a former employer as a step back in their careers, I realize this idea is counter cultural.
