For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a fan of CBS News’ On the Road segment which has been aired since 1967, initially featuring legendary newsman and journalist Charles Kuralt.
While Kuralt is long gone, On the Road is still in production under the apt leadership of broadcast journalist Steve Hartman. My wife and I rarely miss this feature that wraps up the CBS News every Friday evening.
I was particularly touched by a recent segment that discussed how fathers in a Shreveport, LA community have become particularly involved in their children’s high school.
A great reminder of the impact we can all make in the lives of our children and grandchildren by just “showing up” at the right time.
